If your child has recently been diagnosed with Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), it's normal to feel overwhelmed. DLD affects 7% of the population, yet it is under-recognised leading to confusion about what it means and how to support your child.
To help you navigate this journey with knowledge and confidence, I have created an infographic. It tells you:
Places to go for clear, accurate information about DLD.
Support available for you as well as for your child.
Where to access helpful information you can share with school.
How you can get involved in DLD research and raise awareness of DLD.
Please download this infographic and share it widely. The dream is to see it up in every neurodevelopmental assessment clinic waiting room and for every professional diagnosing DLD to be handing it out to families.
Thank you to all the organisations who agreed to be included RADLD, RCSLT, Afasic, Speech and Language UK, Hwb Wales and Engage DLD and for all the hard work that you all do.
A special thank you to Stephen Parsons, Linda Lascelles and Claire Hoyle for your help and support creating this infographic.
